On Halloween 2003, PLENTY LONG ENOUGH won the very first short story writing competition at DarkLines.com. Despite an offer by US film company Midcoast Pictures to turn PLENTY LONG ENOUGH into a short movie. Since nothing further materialised, we are pleased to announce that an updated version of PLENTY LONG ENOUGH is available in the second issue of an exciting new eZINE at SCREAMINGDREAMS.COM.

Meanwhile, THE MAN WHO DARED TO DREAM can be accessed by clicking the Short Story link on the left menu. The story, set in biblical times, is entirely different to Dave's normal style of writing. However, not only does it contain a wicked little twist at the end, but a number of readers have written in to highly recommended it. If you like something rather more grisly then THE STUFF OF LIFE AND DEATH is available for free on the highly acclaimed Jack the Ripper site at Casebook.org. The story can be found in the Games & Diversions/Original Ripper Fiction section.

Dave's latest short story, DEVIL GAMES, is also highly recommended and will be published in the DEAD ENDS anthology in late spring.

Although Dave writes fiction, over the years he has written hundreds of computer articles. Think hardware or software and Dave has almost certainly reviewed or written a feature about it; anything from motherboards, DVD Writers, printers and hard drives, to operating systems, applications, and games.

Dave freelanced mostly for Practical PC, once a "proper paper magazine" but which is now published entirely online. His articles aimed for IT professionals can be found on the Tech Support Alert site. Other magazines responsible for publishing his work include PC Advisor, Personal Computer World, Windows Plus, PC Support Advisor, and PC Network Advisor.

Around 700 of Dave's computer-related articles have been published, which adds up to well over half a million words.
